Does vegan always mean healthy?

Podeli:

Most people treat and view all lean and plant-based foods as something healthy. Refined industrial lean products, greasy pastries full of additives and industrial commercial baker’s yeast (Saccharomyces cerevisiae), salty and sweet fillings full of sugar and table salt are just some of the products of plant origin, but they contain various preservatives. White industrial flour full of additives and glutamates, and various well-known lean spreads and sauces, are just useless and unhealthy alternatives to their non-lean counterparts. Not to mention “100% natural” jams, which are actually full of sugar (which is, of course, 100% natural) and “fruit” juices without added sugar.

Should I even mention energy drinks, which are oversweetened processed water consumed in large quantities by minors and students, and even athletes?

So the answer is NO. Vegan does not mean healthy a priori!

Refined plant-based food is certainly a far better option than refined non-lean food, both for personal and global sustainability, but what is truly healthier is WHOLE PLANT-BASED NUTRITION (whole foods plant-based). Without refined fats, sugar, table salt, industrial flour. This does not mean you only consume bland, uninspiring salads, because, thankfully, there are also spices, and what gives even raw, lifeless meat an appealing taste are plant-based spices and thermal processing, during which the meat becomes edible, and first and foremost, glycotoxic. Interestingly, the term glycotoxins (advanced glycation end-products – AGEs) is almost impossible to find on the internet in the 21st century.

But let’s go back to plant-based nutrition. So not all vegan food is healthy. A well-known local bakery sells raw energy bars under its brand, full of processed white sugar. Besides the deception used by various manufacturers, there is also a great degree of misinformation among people. I recently encountered information from clients that, on the recommendation of “experts,” they avoid plant fibers and mushrooms because they contain incomprehensible substances and therefore should not be eaten?! Precisely these natural plant fibers and this non-digestible chitin fiber from mushrooms, thanks to their indigestibility, enable BETTER DIGESTION. Even other foods combined with mushrooms are digested much better.
